The Planning Office is an important part of the City's Community and Economic Development Department. Its main function is to develop and implement the City's current and long range plans and to administer Wasilla Municipal Code Title 16, known as the Wasilla Development Code. Other functions include structuring the City's Capital Improvement Program, administration of the 1996 Comprehensive Plan, annexation of additional properties into city limits, providing staff support to the Planning Commission, and serving as a public resource.
