The City of Wasilla goal is to ensure park use is safe and fun for all users and surrounding properties. Please contact the Department of Public Works to obtain a permit to use a park for a specific event or to reserve a pavilion or field to include:
Park Use Permits. The intent of a Park Use Permit for use of parks, pavilions and fields is to designate a time and place for small events. Example for use include parties, reunions, field trips, practice games, staging areas, etc. The permit does not provide exclusive access to the use. Park users are intended to share facilities as needed to accommodate multiple uses.
Park Use Permits are processed on a first come first served basis and can be processed within five (5) business days if all of the required information is provided at the time of submittal. Pavilion or field use may be processed within two (2) business days.

Park Group-Use Applications may be dropped off at the Department of Public Works from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday except on recognized holiday. Your application may also be faxed.
Park Hours: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Park users are expected to control or limit loud noises in the morning and evening hours to minimize impacts on neighboring properties. Generators are not permitted in parks without a City permit.
Public Vending Licenses. The sale of goods and services is not allowed on any City property or in a public right-of-way without a permit. Please view Wasilla Municipal Code (WMC) 6.08, Public Vending Licenses and contact the Department of Public Works with questions or to obtain a Public Vending Permit.
Special Event Permits. Special Event Permits are available for events held on City property, a road or right-of-way and must be obtained for parades, community walks/runs and other events. Events may include: vendors, special uses, use of motor vehicles, firearms, fireworks, animals, and alcohol dispensing. The permit will address litter, sanitary facilities, damage, crowd control, traffic control, noise, hours of use, insurance and public notice. Please plan ahead as Special Event Permits require more time to process. Please contact the Department of Public Works today for specific requirements.
