What is my “PIN” number? Do you have computers available for the public? Yes. Wasilla Meta-Rose Public Library has seven computers with Internet access and Microsoft Word and Excel. You may use a computer for up to 60 minutes per day. Same day reservations are available. Library card holders may sign on with their cards. Visitors may obtain a guest pass to use the computers. Printing is available at .15 cents per page. How can I get a library card? To obtain a free library card, you must be present in the library and show a picture ID and proof of current mailing address or proof or residency or land ownership in the Mat-Su Borough. Children under 18 must be present with a parent or legal guardian when applying for a card If I have lost my card, can I get a replacement? Yes. Lost cards may be replaced at a charge of $3. How many library items may I check out? You may have up to 20 items checked out on your library card.
How long can I keep the items I check out? Checkout periods are as follows: • 28 days for most books and audiobooks • 14 days for new books • 7 days for videos and DVDs Is there a fine for overdue material? Yes. Overdue fines are calculated at a rate of 25 cents, per item, per day. The maximum fine is $5 per item. Items are considered lost when they are 30 days overdue. An additional $5 processing fee is then assessed on each item. Can I return items when the library is not opened? Yes. There is an outside bookdrop near the front door of the Library to return items when the Library is closed. Can I renew my library materials online? Yes. Log on to the “My Account” area of the library catalog. What is my “PIN” number? When you get a library card, your PIN (or personal identification number) is assigned as the last four digits of your home phone number. You will need this number in addition to your library barcode number to sign on the library catalog.
